Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

We collect minimal information to operate the platform:

  • Account information: If you sign in via Clerk, we receive your name and email address as provided by your authentication provider.
  • User submissions: Feedback, appeals, and suggestions you submit, including any name or email you provide in those forms.
  • Usage analytics: We use Google Analytics to collect anonymised usage data (pages visited, device type, approximate location). No personally identifiable information is sent to Google Analytics.
  • Local storage:We store your theme preference and team selections in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device.

2. Competition Data

Swimmer names, clubs, and competition results displayed on this platform are sourced from publicly available competition records published by meet organisers. This data is already in the public domain. We do not collect this data from individual swimmers.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To operate and improve the platform
  • To respond to feedback, appeals, and suggestions
  • To understand how the platform is used (via anonymised analytics)
  • To send you transactional emails about your account activity, and promotional emails if you have opted in

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties.

4. Email Communications

We may send you the following types of emails:

  • Transactional emails: Account-related notifications such as appeal status updates, claim confirmations, and security alerts. These are necessary for the operation of your account and cannot be opted out of.
  • Promotional emails: Occasional updates about new features, competition results, or platform news. These are sent only with your explicit consent. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in each email, and we will honour your preference promptly.

We will never share your email address with third parties for their marketing purposes.

5. Third-Party Services

  • Clerk — authentication provider. See Clerk's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Analytics — anonymised usage tracking. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Vercel — hosting provider. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (via Clerk) and analytics cookies (via Google Analytics). You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings.

7. Data Removal Requests

If you are a swimmer and would like your results removed from this platform, or if you want to delete your account data, please contact us via the feedback page. We will process removal requests promptly.

8. Children's Privacy

This platform displays competition results which may include minors' names as published by meet organisers. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Parents or guardians may request data removal via the feedback page.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
